Lilly

This spring, I have had the pleasure to work with a lovely intern from Mountain Middle School here in Durango. Lilly is on her way to high school in the fall and part of her graduation requirement was interning with a local business. She has a passion for photography and modeling and since I too have a passion for both of those awesome things, we made a great team. Although our time together is not over, as Lilly will join me on a commercial editorial shoot later this month, I wanted to share some amazing images we created together during one of our hangout sessions at the studio. 

Lilly reminds me of myself at her age; strong, free, confident, unique and in love with photography. When I was young I used to gather up all my coolest clothes (and some of my mom's) and grab my best friend, Rachel, for a makeshift fashion shoot in front of my bed sheet. I was determined to be a photographer, model, and fashion designer. A triple-threat! I am happy to say that only the photography dream stuck, as it was my most favorite of the three. I can only imagine how my life would have changed at that age if I had a mentor - someone to take an interest in my dreams. 

Whatever Lilly goes on to do, and whatever dreams  she dreams for herself from here on (out), I know she will go far!
